D23: Mickey Shorts Ride Planned for Disney’s Magic Kingdom

I love any news relating to do with those new Mickey Mouse shorts. I’ll post even sketchy information about further plans for these shorts and this crew. Disney announced today at D23 that their are plans for Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida for a ride using the designs from the current Paul Rudish shorts series.

Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek announced these plans this afternoon. “Disney remains at the cutting edge of deeply immersive, creative storytelling that draws guests into new worlds, and it is a legacy that lives on in every new Disney Parks experience. The first-ever Mickey-themed ride-through attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, will come to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.”

“With a new original story and lovable attraction theme song, this new state-of-the-art ride-through attraction will take guests on a journey inside the wacky and unpredictable world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts using new technologies that transform the flat cartoon world into an incredible dimensional experience.”

I’ve enjoyed these new Mickey Mouse shorts but I have a gripe with the fast timing. If they made these shorts 7 or 8 minutes long, they would be perfect.
