FIRST OFFICIAL TEASER: Sony’s “Smurfs: The Lost Village”

Opening on April 7th, 2017, Smurfs: The Lost Village is an all-new, all-animated take on the Smurfs. No live action. Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2) directs – with a cast including Demi Lovato, Rainn Wilson (as Gargamel), Jack McBrayer and Many Patinkin (as Papa Smurf). SYNOPSIS: a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history!

    i’m conflicted. Animation wise, it looks fantastic, the voices sound great, the director is a solid choice, and it LOOKS like the original source material…the rap song is jarring when the international trailer doesn’t have it, but still. Hope the next trailer shows off more.
