ASIFA-Hollywood has recommended two new members to its Advisory Board - Hannah Minghella and Alex Woo. In 2025, ASIFA-Hollywood created the Board, its members hand selected by ASIFA’s board of directors.

“We are seeking the best final student short films of the year—projects that demonstrate creativity, originality, and a bold vision for the future of animation.,” says Michael Bonitatis, chair, AEF Student Animation Showcase.

New online membership which provides virtual membership benefits for people living outside of Southern California, including access to the Annie Awards voter application, ‘For Your Consideration’ online award screeners, weekly membership e-newsletters, etc.

We’re seeking festivals that are not only respected by their peers but also serve as influential voices within the animation community,” said ASIFA-Hollywood Executive Director Aubry Mintz. “The top prize winners at these festivals will be allowed to submit their work to corresponding Annie categories with no submission fee.”

The application deadline is Friday, May 22, 2026, and recipients will be announced in mid-June. Awards will range from US $1,000 to a maximum of US $5,000 per applicant.
