Allers played a major role in defining the Disney Animation renaissance of the ‘80s and ‘90s with his direction, story and creative contributions to such films as “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and of course "The Lion King" among others.

When I heard about the Disney and OpenAI deal, I was not worried, not angry, but excited. I totally understand the sentiment that I have seen online in reaction to this partnership. I thought I’d write a bit about it and where I’m coming from in my enthusiasm for the deal.
