Next month, a limited theatrical release combining the first 3 episodes of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity will be available exclusively in U.S. theatres, streaming in both dub and sub from June 25th to June 29th. Distributed by Fathom Entertainment And VIZ Media, the special feature also includes a behind-the-scenes debrief with the creator Tite Kubo, series director Hikaru Murata, and chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi.

In little need of an introduction, BLEACH remains a cornerstone of the “Big Three” shonen anime, standing along with Naruto and One Piece as a bastion of what made anime the pop culture hit it is today. Since the series’ manga debut in 2001, more than 130 million manga copies have been sold worldwide, and now with the series’ return in 2022, the renaissance for BLEACH fans is upon us.

As the latest series in the franchise, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War finishes the last of the manga chapters never adapted for TV audiences, with its final season BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity set to place the final capstone in a beautiful legacy. This new series has earned several nominations in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, such as Best Continuing Series, Best Action, Best Score with Shiro Sagisu, and Best English VA Performance for the localization (also known as dub for non-anime enthusiasts.)
