Director Hideaki’s iconic series is set to debut on Criterion Channel this September 1st, and will be available for streaming in both Japanese and English dub. Synopsis
The world is set in a post-apocalyptic Japan where monstrous entities known as Angels threaten to wipe out the last of humanity. For an unknown reason, only teenagers have been enlisted to pilot the only weapon that can face them: Giant and mysterious mechs known as Evas. Our hero Shinji tries to refuse the call to action, but with little choice in the matter and the world on his shoulders, a terrifying and deeply touching war for survival will unfold around him.
