The popular webnovel and webcomic SSS-Class Revival Hunter will receive its very own anime adaptation set to release in January 2027. The anime will premiere only on Crunchyroll worldwide, with the exception of Asia, and along with the anime’s announcement, a teaser trailer, visual, and some of the upcoming voice cast were revealed.

Offering a glimpse of the journey to come for Gongja Kim, the series’ visual showcases a glowing card hovering above the seemingly unremarkable hunter, with an imposing man called the Sword Emperor standing behind him. The trailer detailed the two characters’ voice actors as well, with Takeo Otsuka as the F-rank hunter Gongja Kim, and Satoshi Hino as the Sword Emperor.

The original webnovel written by Sinnoa began in 2018, and its webcomic adaptation began in 2020. Now nearly a decade later, Studio fu will be bringing to life the title’s latest adaptation alongside the experienced director Hiroaki Sakurai.

Synopsis

A tower full of deadly monsters has appeared, necessitating ranked Hunters to risk their lives against the beasts within, and weak F-rank Hunter Gongja Kim can only admire the strongest Hunters he’s so far away from. However, once he develops an inexplicable and seemingly self-defeating skill that activates upon his death, he’s able to team up with the powerful Sword Emperor to try and turn his luck around.
